What is Google Classroom?

Google classroom is a simple delivery platform for creating, distributing, and grading assignments. It is an optional learning management system in NISD for grades 2-5. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students.

Accessing Google Classroom

Teachers and Students will both access Google Classroom through the NISD Portal. From there, sign in with Google. This is where you will access your class, students, and activities. Google Classroom courses are not created for you by NISD. Be sure to check out the checklist to the right to create your course and review how to add your students.

-Your NISD iPad will already have Google Classroom downloaded for you. Open the app and sign in with Google.

-The IOS or Android Google Classroom app is also available to download on your phone.

Teachers can invite families and turn guardian access on or off by following these steps. Families can recieve email summaries of their student's progress and work in Google Classroom.
